Brief description of what you’ll be doing
As a volunteer fundraiser you play a vital role in helping to ensure ACAP can be there for the hundreds of young people and their families. Income generation is key to our continued success. As a volunteer fundraiser you will organise events and help to encourage other volunteers to fundraise for the charity. The role is flexible to suit your commitments and interests.
Role Description
In this role you will work closely with the Fundraising Team to ensure efficient and successful implementation of ACAP’s Fundraising Strategy. This role will require you to speak confidently and passionately to individuals and organisations from the wider community including schools, voluntary groups and local businesses.
Key Responsibilities
Helping to raise funds as part of ACAP’s fundraising team
Assisting with the development of an Annual Fundraising Calendar
Organising and Assisting at fundraising events
- Dealing with other ACAP volunteers and clients in a professional and friendly manner
Developing links with local businesses and organisations
Coordinating and supporting other volunteers involved in fundraising
Researching potential fundraising sources
- Attend regular support and supervision sessions.
- To comply with ACAPs Health and Safety and Child Protection Policies and Guidelines.
Qualifications and training required
- There are no set qualifications required for this position as all training will be organised. Any qualifications that you do have in this field would be very much welcomed.

A professional, friendly and outgoing manner
Commitment to work within fundraising guidelines and policies
- The ability to negotiate with confidence to influence a wide range of people both internally and externally
Research funders and help to identify eligibility for charitable trusts
- Willing to work as part of a team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Keen to learn and develop new skills
Please note there is a complete pre-screening process for this role (application, interview, references, DBS check etc) and a comprehensive training programme you must attend (including safeguarding training) before starting in this role.
