Peer Support Groups for Adults & Young People

Service Details

As part of our Hope & Light parnership work, ACAP’s peer support groups bring people together in safe, welcoming and culturally responsive spaces. Through creativity, conversation and shared experiences, participants can build supportive relationships, improve their wellbeing and feel more connected to their community.

Our groups include Creative Connections on Wednesdays from 10.30am–1.30pm, Therapeutic Thursdays Art Group from 1pm–4pm, and dedicated Young Lions and Young Lionesses groups for Black young people aged 13–17. See below for further details.

Creative Connections
Wednesdays, 10.30am–1.30pm
A relaxed and creative space to  completely de-stress where adults can enjoy sewing. arts and crafts, express themselves, meet new people and support their emotional wellbeing.

Therapeutic Thursdays Art Group
Thursdays, 1pm–4pm
Support your wellbeing through creative activities in a calm, friendly environment. No previous artistic experience is needed—just come along, take part and enjoy being creative.

Young Lions,  Thursday’s 5.00-7.00pm
For boys aged 13–17
A supportive peer group where young boys can talk openly, build confidence, develop positive relationships and explore identity, wellbeing and the issues affecting their lives. Positive male role models on site.

Young Lionesses, Friday’s 5.00-7.00pm
For girls aged 13–17
An empowering space where young girls can connect, express themselves and grow in confidence while exploring identity, aspirations, wellbeing and healthy peer relationships.

Our peer support groups are shaped around the needs and interests of the people attending. There is no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with, and you can take part at your own pace.

Whether you want to try something creative, talk with people who understand your experiences or simply spend time in a welcoming environment, ACAP offers a space where you can feel valued, supported and part of a community.
