Bespoke Employability Support Programme

Supporting you to take your next step towards work

Looking for work can be difficult, especially when you are also dealing with health concerns, low confidence, gaps in employment, limited digital skills or other challenges in your life.

ACAP’s Trailblazers Programme provides personalised employability support to help people identify their strengths, overcome barriers and take practical steps towards employment, training, volunteering or further development.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we work with you to understand where you are now, where you would like to be and what support could help you get there.

How can Trailblazers help?

Everyone’s journey is different. When you join Trailblazer, we will work with you to develop a personalised action plan based on your goals, interests and circumstances.

Support can include:

  • CV writing and updating
  • Job searching and completing applications
  • Interview preparation and practice
  • Identifying your skills, strengths and work interests
  • Digital skills and support using computers
  • Building confidence and motivation
  • Literacy and communication support
  • Exploring training and learning opportunities
  • Volunteering and opportunities to gain experience
  • Help identifying and addressing barriers to employment
  • Signposting and referrals to specialist support where needed
  • Support with wellbeing through ACAP’s wider activities and services

Participants can also access opportunities such as peer support, therapeutic activities, wellbeing sessions and other ACAP programmes where these can support their wider journey towards employment.

A 12-week journey

Trailblazer provides structured support over 12 weeks, giving you time to make meaningful progress rather than expecting everything to change overnight.

At the beginning of the programme, we will talk with you about your current situation, your aspirations and any challenges you are experiencing. Together, we will agree realistic goals and the steps needed to achieve them.

Throughout the programme you can receive regular one-to-one support, alongside group sessions, practical employability activities and opportunities to develop your confidence and skills.

We will review your progress with you and help you plan your next steps beyond the programme.

Who is Trailblazers for?

Trailblazers is for people who would benefit from additional support to move closer to employment.

You may be:

  • Unemployed and looking for work
  • Returning to work after a period away
  • Unsure what type of work you would like to do
  • Looking to improve your skills or confidence
  • Interested in training or volunteering as a step towards employment
  • Experiencing health, wellbeing or practical barriers that are making it harder to move forward

You do not need to have everything worked out before you contact us. That is what we are here to help with.
