Professor Udy Archibong, MBE

Bradford

​​Uduak Archibong is the Pro Vice Chancellor [Equality, Diversity and Inclusion], directs the Centre for Inclusion and Diversity and provides strategic oversight for equality, diversity and inclusion [EDI] across the institution. She obtained a BSc (First Class) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Nigeria in 1990, a PhD from Hull University in 1995 and was promoted to Professor of Diversity with a cross-disciplinary and institutional portfolio in 2004. She is a Fellow of the West African College of Nursing and a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing. She was listed in the New Year Honours list 2015 and was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire for her contributions to higher education and equality.

She has been recognised as a foremost authority on inclusion and diversity and became the first ever UK Professor of Diversity with a cross-disciplinary and institutional portfolio. She has a sustained, distinguished presence in the field of diversity management, she is currently leading in setting agenda to drive research, learning and knowledge exchange activities internationally and has published extensively on inclusion and diversity.  Informed by over 30 years’ experience of working in the health and higher education sectors, her academic and professional work has major impacts locally, nationally and globally. Key among these impacts is that the body of her research work has provided the evidence base for, and a robust understanding of, the development and application of cultural solutions and diversity interventions in public, private and third sector organisations. 

Dr Brigid Nkechiyerem Allagoa

Huddersfield

Dr Brigid Nkechiyerem Allagoa MD DCH MRCP FRCPCH is a Consultant Paediatrician in the NHS and in the RAMC (Royal Army Medical Corp). 

She currently works in the Mid-Yorkshire Hospitals Trust in Dewsbury & Wakefield. Her achievements so far have been across health equalities in particular the African/Caribbean and the South-Asian populations. This has been driven by the fact she is in a position to understand the difficulties and provide aid as far as possible with the help of the wider organisations.  

Dr Brigid has also made significant contributions in her Role in the Military, the Army Reserves, by assisting in recruitment of personnel from countries of the Commonwealth. This organisation offers a great deal of knowledge and training especially in the area of Leadership which is a very important asset to acquire in life. 

Dr Brigid would like to continue working within African and Caribbean communities around the areas of Culture dissemination amongst children and adolescents in order for them to have an overall more meaningful knowledge of our heritage and to pass that on to the generations ahead.

Abigail Marshall Katung

Leeds

Abigail Marshall Katung is a Labour & Cooperative Councillor in Leeds. She is the Scrutiny Chair for Adults, Health & Active Lifestyle, Lead Member for Faith & Religion, Chair of the Hate Crime Strategic Board and Chair of FE (14-19)25 Strategic Partnership Board.

Abigail is the first African to be elected to the Leeds Council. First Black elected to the Cooperative Party National Executive Council, Founder of the Leeds African Network who have delivered a strong Covid response to our diverse communities fighting food poverty. Abigail is also an athlete and England Athletics Coach. She specialises in sprinting and coaches U15 children every week.
