ACAP is piloting a new cycling club targeted at Black and Asian women and girls (age 16+) in Bradford called ‘Girl’s Gotta Ride’. The project is being partially funded by go:cycling. We wanted to promote cycling in the community because of the positive health benefits associated with taking part in this activity.
The project will create opportunities for women who are new to cycling so that they can keep fit, develop their confidence in riding a bike and get to know about Bradford’s cycling infrastructure.
Women who get involved will get access to their own bike, protective clothing and all the equipment needed to start riding (as soon as they have undergone basic training) on a regular basis.
If you would like to get involved in the project either as a rider (women age 16+) or a volunteer (men and women) you can contact Ann Marie Smith on 01274 720254.
