survive without them

Delroy Dacres


Delroy Dacres is a stalwart in the community and has volunteered in the community for decades. He has been involved with ‘Sports Campaign Against Racism’, the Frontline Initiative and has been the manager of Campion Football club for over 25 years. Assisting many young people to achieve refereeing and coaching qualifications, he also organised many events including the local nations World Cup which was a unification of many cultures and a sports tournament which highlighted prostate cancer. As a person of positive actions Delroy has never sought rewards and brings success and a sense of achievement to those he meets and inspires.


Louise Muhammad


Louise is very active in the community, she has hosted several Kwanzaa and Black History events, established the Caribbean Culture Collective, led on Kirklees Council Windrush Day E-Celebration-2020 and also supported the development of the recently launched campaign ‘Millions for Justice’.

Louise says giving back feels the most natural thing in the world to her and contributes in whatever way she can to improve the lived experiences of Black African Caribbean Descent communities.

Valsie Walsh


Valsie has been an active community member for many years. She’s an excellent networker and works with multiple groups in Leeds and beyond. She is interested in the advancement of people and was instrumental in establishing a community pardner. She’s an inspiration to many, and uses her wide skill set to create positive change in the Leeds community.
